Should You Use Numbers in a Domain Name?

Numbers are most useful when they are genuinely part of the brand. Otherwise they can create ambiguity between a numeral and a spelled-out word.

Test it aloud

If someone hears “seven” and cannot know whether the domain contains 7 or seven, the name requires explanation. That is a branding cost worth considering.

When numbers work

Numbers can be memorable when culturally meaningful, category-specific or already embedded in the company name.
